Do you accept Newly Qualified Teachers?
Yes, we actively encourage applications from NQTs. We appreciate that for most NQTS supply teaching may be a first step in securing a more permanent teaching position. Supply teaching can be a valuable learning opportunity for our NQTs that will stand you in good stead for the future.a
I have had a gap in teaching, can I still apply for supply work?
We will be happy to discuss this with you after you have made your initial enquiry.
How much work will I get as a supply teacher?
Due to the nature of supply work, we cannot guarantee work. However, we do make time to contact our teachers on a weekly basis to ascertain availability so that when suitable work does come in we can contact you. The more flexible you are with the areas you can work in; the amount of days you are available; and the age ranges you are confident teaching; the more work we are likely to find you.
Do you provide training?
We hold regular CPD courses in the Oxford and Abingdon areas covering a wide range of topics. Our regular newsletter gives details of upcoming courses and all teachers and TAs are invited to attend these training events.
Do you only cover Oxfordshire?
Yes and no! We focus on Oxfordshire, but we also provide supply teachers to the borders or neighbour counties including Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Northamptonshire. We believe that by focussing on one area, from one office, we can provide a much higher level of service to both our schools and teachers.
