Class Act Teaching Services - Committed to Safeguarding
a
"Class Act are absolutely committed to Safeguarding and Safer Recruitment. We have a very close working relationship with the Safeguarding Team at OSCB (Oxfordshire Safeguarding Childrens Board) and follow their protocols at all times."  Julia Oliver MD  and Owner Class Act
Class Act Teaching Services take Safeguarding very seriously before we place any teacher or teaching assistant in a school and we will either request evidence of recent relevant training or we will arrange to train them using OSCB material.  Before beginning any placement we remind supply staff that:
THE CHILD'S WELFARE IS PARAMOUNT AND SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYBODY'S RESPONSIBILITY.  AS A TEACHER YOUR CORE RESPONSIBILITIES ARE:

Safer Recruitment

"For those agencies whose job it is to protect children...the harsh reality is that if a sufficiently devious person is determined to seek out opportunities to work their evil, no one can guarantee that they will be stopped.  Our task is to make it as difficult as possible for them to succeed." Source - OCC Safer Recruitment Guidelines.
a

Class Act Teaching Services take these guidelines seriously and have adopted them in full. It is our aim to ensure that any one employed through Class Act has passed our very strict vetting procedures and that we have done everything necessary to ensure the safety of children or vulnerable people.

We follow stringent recruitment checks to ensure that the quality of our staff is exemplary. The checks include:
a
  • Personal face to face interview
  • Qualifications
  • QTS
  • Identity
  • Health
  • Safeguarding Training
  • List 99
  • DBS checks
  • Overseas Police checks
  • References
  • NQT Induction (if applicable)

Class Act Teaching Services are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all teaching, non-teaching, office staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check. This is due to positions having access to children and/or vulnerable adults. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining a post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information providedOSCB Safeguarding

For further information on Safeguarding please contact the office  on 01235 832 828 or visit the OSCB website.

Educate Against Hate

Educate Against Hate
The Educate Against Hate website has been launched by the government as part of a new drive against extremism.

The message from the government is very clear, extreme ideologies and those that promote them are not welcome in our education system.  They also make it clear though that we must not hide children from a debate on alternative viewpoints, just because they may not be mainstream.
a
Class Act supports the education and protection of children and reminds all teachers that they should look out for changes in behaviour, including all forms of extremism whatever form they take.
